I would like to draw attention to something that can be life-saving, but that many people do not think about: setting up ICE (In Case of Emergency) contacts on smartphones, especially for seniors. But actually it is important for everyone.
Why ICE contacts are so important
If the ICE function is set up, the ICE contacts can be called without having to unlock the device. So, in the event of an accident or medical emergency, emergency responders can contact the set ICE contacts directly via your phone. This is especially important for seniors, who may be confronted with unexpected medical situations more often. This gives a reassuring thought that if something happens, you can always contact your family or important contacts. However, this only works if this is set up, if it is not set up it will not work.
How do you set up ICE on an Android device?
On many Android devices, the option “Emergency information” can be found in the settings, where you can choose the ICE contacts from your contact list and optionally enter medical information such as medication use, allergies or conditions. The best thing to do is to consult the internet by entering your “make and type of phone + set up ICE contacts” in your search engine, then you will find detailed instructions on how to set everything up.
How to set up ICE on an iPhone?

Let’s keep our loved ones safe together! A small effort that can make a big difference.

Share/repost this message with as many people as possible because I think (fear) that very few people use this function, while it can make a big difference.
